Betty Kathleen Hicks

Betty Kathleen (Bowman) Hicks age 74, of Brownfield, passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2015. She was born on December 22, 1940 in Uniontown, a daughter of Harry Bowman and Viola (Hellen) Bowman.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Thomas Hicks, Jr. and ten siblings.

Betty is survived by her sons: Terry Hicks of Point Marion, Joseph Hicks of Brownfield, Michael Hicks and his wife Elaine of Scott Twp. and Jeffrey Hicks and his wife Kim of Low Hill; six grand children; two great granddaughters; brothers: Donald Bowman and his wife Diane of Smithfield and Sanford Bowman and his wife Martha of Romney, WV; many nieces and nephews.

Betty worked for Laurel Highlands School District for many years. She enjoyed bingo, dancing and bowling and will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

Betty’s family will receive friends on Monday, October 12, 2015 from 6-8 PM and Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM in The Goldsboro-Fabry Funeral Home, Inc., 21 E. Church Street, Fairchance, PA. Additional visitation will take place on Wednesday until 11 am, the hour of her funeral service with Rev. Charles O’Brien officiating. Interment to follow in Mountain View Memorial Park, Brownfield.
