Dorothy Theresa (Hick) DeVenny

Dorothy Theresa (Hick) DeVenny, age 88 of Marshall Twp., PA passed away Friday, March 31, 2017 in the Wexford House Nursing Home with her loving family by her side. She was born on February 27, 1929, in Pittsburgh, PA, the daughter of Howard Hick and Katherine (Christian) Hick.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert Guthrie DeVenny, Jr. and daughter in law, Joyce DeVenny.

Dorothy is survived by her children: Howard R. DeVenny of Mechanicsville, MD, Robert P. DeVenny and his wife Ann of Elyria, OH, Katherine Hunter and her husband Curtis of Aspinwall and Louise Loscar and her husband Raymond of McCandless; seven grandchildren: Stephanie, Alexis, Bobby, Christina, Leah, Ray and Elizabeth; great granddaughter, Abigale.

She was a member of St. Ferdinand Catholic Church. She worked as a switchboard operator for the Warrendale Youth Development Center and the Dixmont State Hospital.

Dorothy’s family will receive friends in St. Ferdinand Catholic Church 2535 Rochester Road, Cranberry Twp., PA 16066 on Thursday April 6, 2017 from 10 am until 11 am, the hour of A Mass of Christian Burial with Father Andrew Fischer as Celabrant. Interment to follow in Mt Pleasant Cemetery, Warrendale.
