Edna Ruth (Harding) Swaney

Edna Ruth (Harding) Swaney, age78 of Uniontown, originally of Fairchance passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2015 Golden Living Center, Uniontown. She was born February 6, 1937 in Hopwood a daughter of George E. Harding and Gwendolyn Verdene (Lehman) Harding.

In additions to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers: James E. Harding and Raymond E. Harding.

She is survived by her husband of fifty eight years, Normond D. Swaney; sons: David D. Swaney of Uniontown and Alan R. Swaney of State College, Pa; grandchildren: Tracy L. Swaney  and  David B. Cotteleer both of Fredericksburg, VA; great grand daughter, Desiree Crelia; sisters: Thelma R. Jones and her husband Floyd of Uniontown, Barbara Vilk and husband Larry of Uniontown; several nieces and nephews.

Edna was a member of the Fairchance Free Methodist Church. She enjoyed gospel music and cooking for her family.

Edna’s Family will receive friends on Friday, October 9, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm in the Goldsboro-Fabry Funeral Home, Inc., 21 E. Church Street, Fairchance, PA 15436. Additional visitation will take place on Saturday from Noon until 2 PM, the hour of her funeral service with Rev. Roger Yeager, officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Fairchance, PA.
