Vincent P. Coppolino, age 87 of Lake Lynn passed away on October 4, 2018 in Lafayette Manor, Uniontown, PA. He was born July 6, 1931, in Mount Pleasant, PA, a son of Anthony and Jean Caletri Coppolino.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an infant son, Thomas; brother, John Coppolino and his wife, Frances; mother-in-law Amy Blaney.
Vince graduated from Ramsey High School. He married Ida Elizabeth (Betty) Coppolino on January 21, 1954. He obtained a Bachelor of Science in Education from California University of Pennsylvania in 1955 and received his Masters from West Virginia University. Vince proudly served in the United States Army from 1955-1957 and the Reserves from 1957-1961.
He was a teacher at Redstone and Brownsville High Schools for 33 years where he taught industrial arts and later Ceramics. Played college football at California University of Pennsylvania. Coached high school football and served as athletic director.
Vince was active in Springhill Furnace Presbyterian Church having served as an elder, trustee, Sunday school teacher, church treasurer and Vacation Bible School worker.
Vince is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Betty Coppolino; daughters Lisa Coppolino and Teresa Coppolino both of Germantown, Maryland; brother, Joseph Coppolino and his wife Janet of Saginaw, Michigan; brother-in-law Charles Blaney and his wife Shirley of Myrtle Beach, SC; several nieces and nephews and extended family Susan Kunkle of Canton, Ohio and Harold (Butch) and Linda Phillippi of Charleston, SC.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 11, 2018 in Mt Moriah Baptist Church Cemetery, Smithfield, PA with Rev. Michael Shepard, officiating. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
