Arline Rae (Hughs) Darr Cunningham, age 91 of Smithfield, PA passed away on Monday. June 4, 2018 at her home with her loving family by her side. She was born on July 28, 1926 in Fairchance, a daughter of Ray Hughs and Clara Kurtz Hughs.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband Lewis Darr; infant daughter, Karen Lou; brother, Robert Hughs; sister in law, Bess Hughs.
Arline was an active member of the Fairchance First Presbyterian Church serving as a Trustee, Deacon, Elder, Sunday school teacher and standing member of the choir. She was proud to have been the first wedding after WW II to have been married in the Fairchance Presbyterian Church. She was a proud Christian professing to have “lived her life according to the word of God” Her first love was God and her family was second.
A special request from the family is that anyone who would like to share their experiences and adventures about “Arline” is asked to speak at her Celebration of Life. Please help celebrate Arline’s life, not her death.
She is survived by her husband, George Cunningham; daughters: Marcia J. Martin and her husband Steve of Fairchance, Sheri Darr Groover and her husband Jay of Smithfield; son, Charles R. Darr of Fairchance; nine grandchildren: Dr. Lewis Misinay of Kentucky, Charles J. Darr and his wife, Leah of Morgantown, Ronald Kragnes of Pittsburgh, Kelly Matzus and her husband Kevin of Fairchance, Brandon Barnickel of Somerset, Joshua Darr of Fairchance, Taylor Barnickel and his wife Kaitlyn of Smithfield, Joshua Groover of Smithfield, PA, Courtney Groover of Fairchance, Jeffry Martin and his wife Stacy of Lake Lynn,
Jackie Osgood of Smithfield; great grandchildren: Deegan, Andrew, Makenna, Olivia, Alexis, Tobias, Colie, Karmai, Brayden and Carter; loving nieces and nephews, a special dear friend, Tammy Seher.
Arline’s family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 in the Goldsboro-Fabry Funeral Home, Inc., 21 E. Church Street, Fairchance, PA 15436. Additional visitation will take place until 10 a.m. Thursday, June 7, 2018, the hour of her funeral service in the First Presbyterian Church 114 West Church Street, Fairchance, PA. (EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH) Interment will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, PA.
