Betty L. Smith

Betty Louise "Rowan" Sebold Smith, Age 90, of Fairchance, died Monday, September 29th, 2014 at Horizon Personal Care Home, Fairchance, PA. Betty was born on June 12, 1924 in Shallmar, Maryland, a daughter of Earnest and Carrie Wrightsman Rowan. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husbands: Ralph Sebold and Jack Smith; beloved son, Gary W. Sebold; brother, Dewayne Rowan; sisters: Jean Ott and Earnestine Kellner . Betty is survived by her daughter, Frances Homer Sherman of Smithfield, PA; step children: Glen Smith, Donald Smith (Toni), Cheryl Hayden (Kurt), Bobby Smith all from the Mon Valley; daughter in law, Dolores Sebold of Charleroi, PA; grandchildren: Susan Pickell and her husband Jamie, Jason Homer, Julie Baker and her husband Dr. Robert Baker II, Allysia Sebold, Nick Sebold, Miranda Sebold Martin and her husband James; six great grandchildren; brother, Sonny Rowan of Virginia. Betty lived in the Mon Valley for many years where she was a longtime member of the Victory Primitive Methodist Church. She also lived in Leesburg, Florida for more than twenty years. Betty's family would like a special thank you to her caregivers at Horizon Personal Care Home and Amedisys of Uniontown. Betty's family will receive friends from 10 am until 11 am on Saturday, October 4th, 2014, the hour of a Memorial Service at the Goldsboro-Fabry Funeral Home, Inc. 21 E. Church Street, Fairchance, PA 15436. John M. Fabry, Supervisor with Pastor Michael Lyons, officiating Interment to follow at a later date in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Oakland, Maryland.
