Clifford A. Barton

Barton, Clifford A. age 86, formerly of Pleasant Hills, passed peacefully on Friday, August 21, 2015 surrounded by his loving family.  He was born January 2, 1929 in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Norman C. and Violet (Linepensel) Barton.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Janey Dick Barton, and his brother Norman C. “Jim” Barton Jr.  Clifford was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.  He is survived by his four children: Robert (Laura) Barton, Dick (Rhodora) Barton, Jeff (Susie) Barton, and Leslie Barton; loving grandfather of six, Kelly (Jamie) McLeland, Benjamin Barton, Kristen  (Ethan) Eyler, Margaretta Barton, Laura Barton, and Clifford A Barton II, and great grandfather of seven.

He enjoyed a long and successful career in the banking industry culminating as Chairman and CEO of US Bancorp in Johnstown, PA.  Cliff was an active member of the Pleasant Hills Community Presbyterian Church for over 65 years.  He was also a member of the Pleasant Hills – Guthrie Lodge #509 and the Royal Order of Jesters. A Masonic Funeral service will be held at 10 am, Tuesday, September 15, 2015 in Fellowship Hall of The Pleasant Hills Community Presbyterian Church, 199 Old Clairton Road, Pleasant Hills, PA 15236 followed by a Celebration of Cliff’s Life 11 am in the Sanctuary with Rev. Mark Whitsel officiating. A private entombment will follow at Jefferson Memorial Cemetery.  In memory of Cliff, contributions may be made to the Pleasant Hills Community Presbyterian Church “Restoration” Fund at the above address or to the University of Pittsburgh/Alzheimer Disease Research Center, UPMC, 4 West 200 Lothrop St., Pgh., PA 15213. Cliff’s funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Goldsboro-Fabry Funeral Home, Inc., 21 E. Church Street, Fairchance, PA 15436.
