Rev. Clyde Douglas King Sr.
Rev. Clyde Douglas King, Sr. passed away on Tuesday December 3, 2019. He was born on October 30, 1942 the third son born to Robert and Verda (Ross) King of Fairchance Pa. Rev. King was baptized at an early age at the former New Zion Baptist Church in Fairchance Pa.
Rev. King attended and graduated from Fairchance Georges High School and upon graduation joined the Army. While serving in the Army he was a Paratrooper. After leaving the Army, he was employed at Christy Park Steel Company in McKeesport, Pa. Rev. King was also employed at Robena and Cumberland Coal Mine.
Rev. King was called to the ministry and was ordained by Rev. Robert Crable and was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Fairchance, PA.
Rev. King was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Verda (Ross) King, his son Clyde Douglas King Jr. as well as his brothers Clarence, James, Delly and Wayne, and sisters Bernice and Cindy.
Left to cherish and mourn his passing is his wife, Rev. Julia (Bynum) King with whom he celebrated his 53rd anniversary on December 2 and his children Kevin (Roxanne) Bynum, Nanette Bynum, Stephanie (Edward) Jenkins, Erica (Apryl) Harris, Carmella (Ian) Littlejohn, Louis (Brenna) King, Todd King, Jonathan Nobles and Mark Truly. He also leaves his brothers Edward (Bro) King, Thomas (Brenda) King and Joseph (Gloria) McGhee and sisters Blanche (Kenneth) Wilkerson, Carol King-Woods, Marshall King and Pamela Beal. 30 grandchildren and 42 great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
Viewing for Rev. King will be on Monday, December 9th from 9-11 AM at the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Fairchance, PA. The King Family has entrusted The Goldsboro-Fabry Funeral Home of Fairchance with Rev. King’s arrangements. Homegoing service will begin at 11 AM with Pastor Marvin S. Harris.
Heartfelt gratitude to Pastor Marvin Harris and the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, John Fabry, Horizon Personal Care Home, Amedisys Home Health Staff with special mention to Nurse Sarah and special member Roger Harris. Interment to follow at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, PA at 2:30 P.M.
