Donald Raymond Bircher, sr

Donald Raymond Bircher, Sr., age 72 of Fairchance, PA died Thursday, January 3, 2013 as a result of an accident at his home. He was born November 23, 1940 in York Run a son of Albert Clinton and Donna Lilly (Smith) Bircher.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a grandson, Zachery Bircher.

Donald is survived by his wife, Joyce Lyn (Bittinger) Bircher, Three children: Donald R. Bircher, Jr. of Ada, Annette Landman and her husband Jody of Uniontown, Warren E. Bircher Sr. of Ada; five grandchildren: Joseph and Jacob Landman, Colten, Summer, and Warren E. Bircher, Jr.; two step children: Jamie McLaughlin and her husband George of Morgantown, WV, and Gregory Bittinger and his wife Tina of Smithfield, PA; seven step grandchildren: Jessica, Tyler and Piper McLaughlin and Melissa, Megan, Gregory and Wyatt Bittinger; Three brothers: Albert James Bircher Sr. and his wife Rege of McClellandtown, Warren Bircher and his wife Bonnie of Johnstown, PA and Paul Bircher and his wife Twila of Fairchance.

Donald proudly served his country in the Army for eighteen years consisting of four tours of duty in Viet Nam and was a member of Sulpher Springs Gospel Church.

The family will receive friends from 11 am to 1 pm on Monday, January 7, 2013 in The Goldsboro-Tomi Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., 21 E. Church Street Fairchance, PA, John M. Fabry, Supervsior. A funeral service will take place in the funeral home on Monday at 1 pm with Pastor Clarence Sutton officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Fairchance, PA with full military honors accorded by the Amvets Post , Hopwood, PA.
