Elwood W. "Bunk" Cole

Elwood W. "Bunk" Cole, age 81, of Fairchance, PA passed away Thursday afternoon, May 8, 2014 at his home with his loving and caring family at his bedside.

He was born on April 17, 1933 in Fairchance, a son of James Cole and Edith Edna (Perkins) Cole.

In addition to his parents he was preceeded in death by his wife, Dolores Jane (Dunham) Cole; sister: Norma Jean Lebder; brothers: Todd, James, Jones, and Samuel.

Bunk retired from the North Fayette County Municipal Water Authority. He was a Legion Assistant Coach for the Smithfield-Masontown American Legion Team and head coach for the Masontown Wolfpack County Team. He was also an avid lover of animals and baseball.

Elwood is survived by his children, Deborah Humphreys of Fairchance, Susan Abraham and her husband Randy of Fairchance, Terry Cole and his wife Dede of Uniontown, Cathy Smolley and her husband Paul of Fairchance and James Cole and his wife Renee of Uniontown, PA; two granddaughters: Amy Grimm and her husband Gene of Smithfield and Leah Kirsch and her husband Timothy of Fairchance and Madison Richards; Great grandchildren Alyssa Lewis, Ethan and Katie Jane Grimm and Isaac Cole Kirsch; Brother in law Fred L. Lebder of Uniontown; sister in law Joan Miller and her husband Dave, Bill Dunham and his wife Valli all of Gans, PA, and Donald Dunham and his wife Sue of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; also several nieces, nephews and many friends.

In honoring Elwood's request his funeral services will be private. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the services of Twin Oaks, Fayette Home Care (Andrea and Kristen) and caregiver Alice.

Memorial contributions can be made to a local animal shelter of your choice.
