Harry Daniel Hunter, age 91 of Fairchance, PA died Sunday, August 26, 2012 in the Uniontown Hospital, Uniontown, PA. Harry was born in Confluence, PA on January 23, 1921 a son of the late Harry J. and Pearl Smith Hunter.
In addition to his parents Harry was predeceased by a brother, William Hunter.
Harry is survived by his wife of 70 years, Hazel Johnson Hunter, beloved daughter Kathleen Conforti-Caldwell and her husband Mort of Jefferson Hills, PA, sons Kimbrough J. Hunter of Akron, OH, and Craig A. Hunter and his wife Elisa of Gibsonia, PA; seven grandchildren, Dorinda and her husband Jeff, Jay and his wife Jacquie, Dr. Kelly and her husband David, Aletha and her husband Steve, Greg and his wife Lori, Christopher and Evan; four great-grandchildren Aaron, Brittan, Kyra and Christian.
Harry was a devoted member of the First Presbyterian Church in Fairchance, PA, where he served as an Elder, Deacon and was active on various committees. Harry was employed by the Fairchance Lumber Company where he retired after 43 years. He was a member of the Fairchance PTA, American Legion and past president of the Lions Club. Harry joined General Patton's third Army in the European Theater during World War II.
Harry's family will receive friends on Friday, August 31, 2012 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Goldsboro-Tomi Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc. 21 E. Church St., Fairchance, PA 15436, John M. Fabry, Supervisor, J. Michael Fisher, Funeral Director. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Saturday Morning until 10 am the time of his funeral service with Pastor Robert J. Robinson officiating. Interment to follow in the Addison Cemetery, Addison, PA.
