John R. Corey

John R. Corey, age 68, of New Stanton, PA died Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at Briar Cliff Pavilion in N. Huntington, PA. with his loving family by his side. John was born on April 23, 1946 a son of the late Guy L. and Mabel Frances "Dolly" Grafton Corey.

John is survived by his wife Blanche Shindehite Corey; children: John T. Corey (Jennifer) of Chantler, AZ, Rebecca L. Corey, of Chantler AZ, Cathrine G. Corey of Pittsburgh, PA; step children: Shirley M. Harshell (Gary) of Greensburg, Pa, Helen J. Reese (Tony) of Washington, PA, George C. Ahlborn; grandchildren: Jack, Matthew and Megan; step grandchildren: Michael, Rogena and Nicole; great grandchildren: Clarence and Anthony; Sister, Bonnesue Adams (Don) on Denver, Colorado, brother, Rick Corey (Mary) of Charelston, WV.

John was a 35 year member of the Pleasant Hills-Guthrie Lodge #509 where he was a Past Master of Germania Lodge #509, 33' Valley of Pittsburgh, Past High Priest of the St. Clair Royal Arch Chapter 300, Past Commander of the Pittsburgh Commandery Knights Templer, Past Grand Tall Cedar Al-O-Mon Forest #138, Past President of the Pittsburgh Shriners Luncheon Club, Past Grand Monarch - Persia Sanctorium #198 of the Ancient Mystic Order of Samaritans, holder of a Zerubbabel apron, William E. Gelston Chapter #435 Order of the Eastern Star, White Shrine of Jerusalem Westmoreland #18, 23 year member of several IOOF Lodges including General Worth #387 where he was Vice Grand, Noble Grand of Hampton Lodge #1004, Life Member of the American Legion.

John's family will receive friends on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at The Middletown United Methodist Church 1050 Middletown Road, Greensburg, PA 15601 from Noon until 4 pm the time of his funeral service with Rev. Kenneth Bossart, officiating. An IOOF Funeral Service will take place at 3:00 pm, Eastern Star Funeral Service 3:15 pm and a Masonic Funeral Service will take place at 3:30 pm.
