John Glass, Jr

John Glass, Jr., age 95 of Gill Hall (Jefferson Hills) passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2022. He was born in Jefferson Township on April 14, 1927, a son of John Glass, Sr. and Helen Carolyn Eckenrod Glass.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Shelia Clark; son, William Charles Glass; brother, William George Glass; sisters: Shirley Lucille Fabry, Dorothy Jean Mattes. John was the last surviving sibling. 

He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. John was a lifelong member of the Jefferson United Presbyterian Church, Jefferson Hills and the owner of R. J. Dickey Company. Pittsburgh, Pa. He was a Past Master of the Pleasant Hills Guthrie Lodge #509, Pleasant Hills and also a Shriner. He was a past president, member since the early 1960’s and honorary member of the Rotary Club of Pleasant Hills where he was a Paul Harris Fellow.

John is survived by his son, Robert John Glass; daughter, Brenda Louise Grainger; grandson, Michael Anthony Glass; granddaughter, Jamie Grainger; several nieces and nephews.

John’s family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. at the Omni Masonic Lodge, 200 Duquesne Ave., Dravosburg, PA on Sunday, December 18, 2022 where a Masonic Funeral Service will be held at 7 p.m. Additional visitation will be held on Monday from 10-11 a.m. at the Jefferson United Presbyterian Church, 716 Gill Hall Road, Jefferson Hills, Pa where his funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. with Pastor Sharon Stewart, officiating. Interment will follow in Jefferson Memorial Park, Pleasant Hills, Pa. with full military rights and honors will be accorded by the George C. Marshall AMVETS Post 109 of Hopwood, PA.
