Kenneth George Turner, 83 of Lake Lynn, PA passed away suddenly, Tuesday, February 12, 2013 in his home.
Kenny was born July 30, 1929 in Smithfield, PA a son of Chauncey Mitchell and Ella May Uphold Turner.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his son, Melvin Marshall Turner; sisters: Elizabeth Moats, Marie Hileman and Daisy Fisher; brothers: Wendell Turner, Clyde Turner and Earl Turner.
Surviving are his four children and their spouses: Kenneth Mitchell Turner and his wife Lori of Lake Lynn, PA, Roger Turner and his wife Rhonda of Mapletown, PA, Marlene Killingsworth and her husband Kevin of Pickerington, OH, and Darlene Clingan and her husband Mark of Morgantown, WV; five grandchildren: Nathaniel and Zachary Turner, Brianna and Alyssa Killingworth and Courtney Clingan.
Kenny retired from Shannopin Mine in 1992 after 20 years as a miner. He previously was employed at Houze Glass Factory for 22 years.
Memorial donations may be made in Kenny's memory to Fayette Friends of Animals, 223 Searights Herbert Road, P.O. Box 1282 Uniontown, PA 15401.
The family will receive friends at the Goldsboro-Tomi Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc. 21 E. Church St., Fairchance, PA 15436, John M. Fabry, Supervisor, on Friday February 15, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm and Saturday until 11 am, the hour of the funeral service, with Rev. Joey Hickock, officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Moriah Baptist Church Cemetery, Smithfield.
