Pearl C. Bittinger

Pearl Columbia (Hoover) Bittinger, age 102, of Amend formerly of Fairchance passed away at home with her loving family and friends by her side on August 22, 2014. Pearl was born on April 16th, 1912 in Grantsville, Maryland, a daughter of Burleigh and Ella Hoover.


In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husbands, Jacob Bittinger of Amend and Ervin Bittinger of Fairchance; sons: Roy Bittinger of Hopwood, Burleigh Bittinger of Arizona, Stanley Bittinger of Flint Michigan, Leonard Bittinger of Uniontown, Jacob Bittinger of Dunbar, and Edwin "Chip" Bittinger and daughter in law, Dolly Bittinger of Highhouse.


She attended Highhouse Church of God and at the age of 97 transferred to Triumphant Fellowship Church, which she enjoyed tremendously.


Left to cherish her memory are her children: Catherine Lawrence of Jameson, Audrey Fitzpatrick and her husband Clark of Amend, Ethel Memo of Clairton, Arlene Sproles of South Carolina, and Arnold Bittinger of Continental #3; sister, Martha Taylor of Reistertown, Maryland; daughter in laws: Linda Bittinger of Dunbar, Maureen Bittinger of Flint Michigan and Sandy Bittinger of Highhouse. Also,left to cherish her memory are numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and one special great great great grandson, Wyatt Gibson. A special thank you to her aid Nancy Conroy and helpers Paige Fitzpatrick and Paula Verner.

Pearl's family will receive friends Sunday, August 24 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm in the Goldsboro-Fabry Funeral Home, Inc. 21 E. Church Street, Fairchance, PA, John M. Fabry, Supervisor and until 11 am Monday, the hour of her funeral service with Pastor Tom Barnhart officiating. Interment to follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery. a
