Shirley Mae (Goodroe) Baird

Shirley Mae Goodroe Baird, 90, of Smithfield, PA passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2026, in Mt Macrina Manor, Uniontown, Pa. She was born in Lewis, NY on November 15, 1935, the daughter of the late Leon T. and Mae E. (Cleland) Goodroe.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Walter J. Baird, Jr.; brother, Donald Goodroe; and sister, Helen Collins. 

Shirley was a very active member of SS. Cyril & Methodius Roman Catholic Church in Fairchance, PA. She also found great joy and purpose as a member and former president of her Smithfield Senior Citizens group. 

She is survived by her two sons: Walter J. Baird III (Buddy) and Timothy L. Baird and his fiancée Judy Hickle, of Dunbar, PA; one granddaughter, Nicole Triblet and her husband Lorenzo; two great granddaughters, Kyara and Kennedy Triblet, all of Niskayuna, NY.

The Rosary will be prayed at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday in the funeral home by the Christian Mothers of SS. Cyril & Methodious Roman Catholic Church of Fairchance.

Shirley’s family will receive friends at the Goldsboro-Fabry Funeral Home, Inc., 21 E. Church Street, Fairchance, PA on Thursday, April 30, 2026, from 4 to 7 p.m. and on Friday until a Blessing Service at 10:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. at SS. Cyril & Methodius Roman Catholic Church in Fairchance, PA. Burial will follow in Saint Joseph’s Cemetery, Fairchance, PA.
