Sophia A. (Riedmann) Vaslavsky, age 95 of Smithfield passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2018. She was born on May 15,1922 in Smithfield, PA, a daughter of Joseph Riedmann and Theresa Nill Riedmann.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, William A Vaslavsky; brothers: Joe, Frank, Vincent, Edward and Carl; sisters: Myrtle, Mary, Annie, Marie and Margaret.
Sophia loved her family and enjoyed gardening.
Sophia is survived by two sons: William J. Vaslavsky and his wife Christina of Connellsville, Frank E. Vaslavsky and his wife, Karen of Uniontown; grandchildren: Billie Audric and husband Vincent, Nicholas Vaslavsky and his wife Angela, Beth Howe and her husband Eddie, Jennifer Hackett and her husband Tim, Julie Osekowski and her husband Jason; great grandchildren: Maggie, Kip, David, Kaitlin, and Mac; brothers: Fred Reidmann and John Riedmann; sisters: Elizabeth French, Freda Metz and Theresa Dunham; numerous nieces and nephews.
The Christian Mothers will recite the Rosary at 4 p.m. on Wednesday.

Sophia’s family will greet friends from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 in the Goldsboro-Fabry Funeral Home, Inc., 21 E. Church Street, Fairchance, PA 15436. Additional visitation will take place on Thursday until 9:30 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Ss Cyril & Methodius R. C. Church, Fairchance, PA. Interment will follow in St Joseph Cemetery, Fairchance, PA.
