Viola G. (Tate) McDonough, age 85, of Collier went to be with her Lord on Monday, May 13, 2013 in Uniontown Hospital with her loving family by her side. Viola was born on March 4, 1928 in Haydentown, PA a daughter of Emily Clark Tate Hollis and Charles Tate. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth McDonough; grandson, James (Jimmy) Wooten; granddaughter, Karen McDonough; brothers: Gerald and Elmer Tate; sisters: Margaret Victor, Loretta DeLorenzo and Clara Hanzes; special nephew, William (Billy) Brant; step father, John Hollis. Viola survived by six children: Robert McDonough & wife Karen, Kenneth McDonough and wife Betty Jo, Shelby Zentkovich and husband John, Mary Jane Wooten and husband James, Kathryn (Kathy) Ryan ALL of COLLIER, PA and Patrick McDonough and wife Lori of Uniontown, PA; nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; brother: Robert Hollis of Collier; sisters: Salina Brant and husband William of Collier, Juanita Bartock and husband Frank of Strongsville, OH, Linda Makepeace and husband Ed of Perryopolis and Rose Barnhart of Collier. The family would like to extend a special "thanks" to the second floor staff at Cherry Tree Nursing Center for their compasinate care where Viola resided for the past two years. Family and friends will be received on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm in The Goldsboro-Tomi Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc. 21 E. Church Street, Fairchance, PA 15436, 724-564-2010, John M. Fabry, Supervisor. Additional visitation at the funeral home on Friday from 9-10 am, the hour of the funeral service with Rev. Ken Walls officiating. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Fairchance, PA.
