David Patterson Abel

David Patterson Abel, age 82, formerly of Fairchance died Monday, February 9, 2016 in the Uniontown Hospital. He was born on September 6, 1933 a son of William Earl Abel and Elma Rutherford Abel.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers: James Abel and Bill Abel; sisters: Sandy Abel, Eleanor Smith, Marie Williams, Edith Cole, and Ann Goisse.

David is survived by his wife, Frances Marvin Abel; son, David Able II, grandchildren: David III, Josh and Matthew; great grandson, David IV; sisters: Linda Bartos of Uniontown, Florence Stark of Baltimore; brother, Lester Abel of Long Island; many nieces, nephews and friends.

David proudly served his country in the US Navy. He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post 7219 in Fairchance, Smithfield Fairchance American Legion Post #278 in Fairchance, George C. Marshall Post 103 in Hopwood, Hutchinson Sportsman Club and the National Riffle Association.

David’s family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, February 11, 2016 in the Goldsboro-Fabry Funeral Home, Inc., 21 Church Street, Fairchance, PA. where his funeral service will take place 11 a.m. on Friday, February 12, 2016 with Pastor Timothy Rogers, officiating.
